Top 8 CBF Fitness Accountability Strategies

Strategy #1 - Here we are at the Element Crossfit Challenge sporting our Tough Mudder T’s and Headbands!

My hope for everyone involved in any of our programs is that they will feel inspired to adopt Fitness and movement as a lifestyle; as part of their very existence. When we reach that pinnacle, there is no turning back as we just don’t feel good or complete without our workouts. Until we get there though, I have several highly effective accountability strategies for maintaining an active lifestyle.

Top 8 Accountability Strategies for Maintaining an Active Lifestyle

1. Sign up for a Competition/Challenge - For those of you that have been with me from the early days, you know how big I am on fitness and lifestyle challenges. For those new to the CBF community we endeavour to rally the troops with community events and programs like this one at least a few times of year. Nothing maintains motivation more than the comraderie of community events.

2. Do it for a Cause - Another big one for us at CBF is paying back. Whether it's getting involved personally or launching our own events, getting involved in Fitness and Wellness based charitable events is a great way to stay focussed and motivated. Not to mention the obvious benefits to the organizations these events support.

3. Share Your Goals - Be it on social media, with your coach or trainer, or your community, share your goals and strategies for getting there. As you may have noticed, at CBF we are pretty big on this concept as well. Putting it out there adds a level of pressure to step up! So, throw your plans out on our FB page or Insta. Be sure to tag me so I can help bust your chops!

4. Establish a Support System - We can all effectively tick that box as I don't know of a tighter, more supportive fitness community! So, if you have not already done so, make sure to sign up for my closed FB Bootcamp Group. We will hijack this platform for future discussions following the Challenge.

5. Have a Plan - If you recall from my very first intro video for the Kick 2020 to the Curb Challenge I launched the "Failing to plan is planning to fail" cliche. Well, actually I tripped over my words and said planning to fail is.... , which of course is certainly true - if you plan to fail!!! lol. 😂 I digress! Let's be honest though, there is a reason these things become cliche? Because they work. So, have a strategy. If you need help with future planning - holla at me!

6. Put Money on It - Be it investing in a trainer, classes or fitness event, putting money behind your intentions will increase your incentive to follow through. Consider handing over some cash to a loved one and earning it back with specific benchmarks like completing a workout, going for a nature walk, preparing a new real food recipe.... Beyond the inherent motivation of earning our money back - we can funnel it directly into the lulu fund. 🎯

7. Reward Yourself - trying to justify the purchase of those new Lulus?!? Look no further! Attach a challenging, yet realistic goal to a meaningful reward. And frankly, what could be more meaningful than a new pair of lulus?!? 🥱

8. Have Skin in the Game - Get your family involved. Being accountable to our loved ones, particularly people we are trying to inspire and support is an incredible personal motivator. In fact I would go so far as to say there is NO greater motivation than the health and wellbeing of our family and loved ones! Did I mention I consider you guys my family?

So, there you have it. My top 8 fitness accountability strategies! So, what'd I miss? What methods do you employ to hold yourself or your people accountable? Comment below or holla at me on my countless social pages! 🥴 You can never have enough tools in your kit!
